Dive phase with The NAVY DONE!!!!!
Ohhhhh…. In the Navy….
Well i’m a bit late but here it is…
We have finished learning diving with the navy in Victoria 2 weeks ago and it was a lot of fun…. oops I mean not a lot of fun haha. PT every morning, then a quick change in wetsuit (2-3 if we were too slow) and then a nice swim without glove… what a blast heh! We learned how to dive with lead boots and signals on the rope at first , and then moved on with team’s of 2 and a float. Let me tell you it suck’s to have so much rope everywhere.
Anyway, it’s now done and we actually had some fun the last week of training with more relax timing and fun dives
On to Egress training next in Halifax !! That should be a BLAST!!

hope to meet up with ya buddy, been following your blog since it started up, cheers
Absolutely amazing blog guys
I am extremely interested in becoming a Sar Tech and have wanted to do it since I knew what it was. I really can’t see myself doing anything else.
One question that I have that I hope you guys could help me with is entry requirements. I know you need to PCP for direct entry but given that it is taught in the course it seems somewhat redundant. I have no PCP but have spent several years as a lifeguard(several rescues), swim instructor, cpr instructor and have done rapelling and diving classes. The academics of the PCP course would be no problem for me and I have no doubts about my physical fitness or will to do the course.
Is it possible to even be considered with a strong background in lifeguarding and academics but no PCP? If need be I will spend the time to do a PCP before I apply.
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. Thankyou.
